Hi, my name is Lyd and I started Event Management Direct on the 10th August 2021.
I started my events journey in Lincoln working multiple bars and nightclubs and quickly realising instead of pouring drinks and mopping floors events are my passion!
After working at Leeds First Direct Arena and Huddersfield Johns Smith Stadium I went on to working weddings, conferences & private parties ironically at an establishment called The Venue.
This is where my enthusiasm for conferences developed. The glitz of weddings and private parties couldn’t beat the meticulous planning and organisation conferences provide.
Conferences bring together a diverse group of people who all share the same passion. It’s always pleasure to work with people so fervent!
My first week has been all about getting to grips with all the systems EMD have on offer. From their bespoke registration system, client liaison process and in house website design.
EMD’s attention to detail is very thorough and I’m loving making lists! Additionally EMD have welcomed me in with open arms and Lucy especially has answered all my endless questions!
Before the pandemic virtual events isn’t something I’d come across, however EMD used their creative skills to offer virtual packages. As someone who’s only worked face to face events I was initially sceptical about how this would translate to clients. However, I was amazed at the opportunities virtual events provide and the glowing client feedback exceeded my expectations!
I’m really looking forward to my EMD journey and I can’t wait to have my own clients!
